Buns hair tutorial

This tutorial will show you how to do buns hair. I use PSP 9 but it can be made in any paint program including MS Paint.

Step 1: You need a doll and a hair palette. If you don't have a palette you can grab one in my palettes section. With the darkest color of your palette, draw you hair outline. The buns can be longuer or shorter it's up to you but assure yourself that you have a gap of 2 pixels between each of them and that they start larger near the head and get thinner at the end. Step 2: Flood fill your outline with color 3 of the palette.
Step 3: With the second color, start drawing strands in your outline. Notice that I have recolor the middle of the strands in the buns. Near the top of the head, make the strands larger. Step 4: With color 4, start applying highlights. Always be careful to leave space each side so we can see the filling color.
Step 5: With color 5 put more lights right over the one did on step 4. What I do is I recolor the central part of the lines, and leave each ends the same color then previously done on step 4. Step 6: For a shiny effect, use the last color of the palette and make some dots here and there on the highlights done on step 5. I usually make a dot leave a space, make a dot leave a space...
Step 7: Back with the second color of the palette, put some strands falling from the buns and you can add some on the forehead too. With you base outline color, shade your scalp and you are done!

Well that's it folks! You have finished your buns hair! Be original, do not reproduce this tutorial pixel by pixel, it as been made to help you and to show you my technique, adapt it to your own style!
