This tutorial will show you how to make a beautiful necklace for your dolls. I use PSP 11 but you can use any paint program including MSpaint. |

| Step 1: You will need 2 palettes, the first one with 6 colors for the gem (could be any color you like) the second one with 3 colors for the necklace itself. (Please not that I will only use 2 but if your necklace is bigger you will need 3 shades or more). You also need a doll! What a surprise! | Step 2: Ok let's move on to the serious stuff now... We will design the gem first. With the darkest color of your gem palette, draw the outline. Mine is kind of oval but it could be in a different shape, lile a star, a circle or even a square, just let go your imagination! |

| Step 3: Flood fill with the 4th color of the palette. (easiest step of this tut! ;P) | Step 4: Now shade the outline with the second color. Leave a dark dot on both side. Shading the outline makes it look more 3D. |

| Step 5: With the 3rd color, continue the shading on the outline. What I do, is I go over the shading did with the 2nd color but I leave a dot on each side of the line. Note that I shade in diagonal. If I leave a dark dot, I will leave another one on the opposite side or the outline. | Step 6: Now place a dot in the bottom right corner inside the gem to make some shadow. Since my gem is small, a dot is enough but depending of the size you have choose, you could put some more shadow. |

| Step 7: Repeat the same thing but with the lightest color and in the opposite corner or the gem this time. This will be your highlight. | Step 8: Place another pixel just under the highlight done in step 7 with the 5th color of the palette. You gem is done! |

| Step 9: With the darkest color of the necklace palette, draw your necklace outline. | Step 10: With the second color, shade your outline. Color the middle or the line and leave both extremity darker then the middle. (if you have a longer necklace, just go over color #2 with color #3 leaving 1 or 2 pixels at both end so we can still see the color #2) |

And voilą! You have a beautiful necklace! This tutorial was created to help you make some accessories for your doll. You can use my palettes but try to be original, do not reproduce it pixel by pixel, adapt it to your own style! Base used is by Dollkat. Any questions? Click here |
