Angel wings tutorial

This tutorial will show you how to make angel wings shaded with a gradient palette. I use PSP 9 but it can be made in any paint program including MS Paint.

Step 1: With black, start drawing your outline. I don't have any tips, just check the pic above to help you. I always start with the outline feathers and then fill the inside. Step 2: Flood fill your outline with color white. Then put the shading with color grey. Nothing to complicated, just put a central line on each feathers and then put a little shadow under each of them just like on the pic above.
Step 3: I have recolor the wing to show you what we will do. The palette used is the one made in my gradient palette tutorial, I have taking off color 2, 4 and 6. We only need the darkest, the third and the fifth one. Note that each area match one palette. Step 4: Now with the lighter palette (the red one) start to shade the red area. Recolor the black outline with the darkest color of the palette, the grey area with the middle color and flood fill the rest with the lighter color.
Step 5: Repeat step 4 but this time use the green palette on the green area. Step 6: Once again, repeat step 4 but with the yellow palette on the yellow area.
Step 7: Now you should know what do to! If not let me explain: Yeah, repeat step 4 but with the blue palette on the remaining area! Step 8: If your paint program as a mirror option, mirror your wing to get another one and paste them behing your doll!

What a beautiful angel you have there! Congratulations, you have finished your first pair of gradient angel wing! Try to be original, do not reproduce this tutorial pixel by pixel, it as been made to help you and to show you my technique, adapt it to your own style!
